Hong Kong is chock full of very well dressed people. Wearing what I usually do in Portland, I looked relatively shabby most of the time.

Apartment building names
My favorite is the last. These are very high-end apartment or condo buildings. Notice Santa playing a guitar at the entrance to Blessings Garden?
Back in the USA
I'm back, safe and relatively sound. But I'll post a few more pictures of buildings and food and such that you might enjoy.

Yellow Door Restaurant
Lunch the other day. Upscale Shanghai-style food. Delicious, but it disagreed with me slightly.
Glass bean noodles (I think) with chili oil, and then some spicy beef along with vegetable rice.

Yung Kee
Well, I'm way behind on my food posts, but this one is fresh in my sensual memory and I don't want to let it go. Rich, delicious roast goose with sweet little yellow beans. The waiter more or less insisted on taking a picture of me (which he composed so as to include the menu) when he saw that I was taking a picture of my food.
Also some excellent cabbage and mushroom soup with little shreds of smoky sausage. All much like "Chinese food" in America, except more intense and flavorful, and with a few nuances I don't think I've tasted before.

Hong Kong Museum of Art
Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to take pictures of the thing I liked most, an ink painting by Gong Xian.

MTR (train) -> Cable car -> Big Buddha
No pics from a failed attempt on the same day to see Lung Tsai Ng Garden. The train is exceptionally clean and orderly (you will be fined for eating or drinking on the train). The view from the cable car speaks for itself, and the Tian Tan Buddha is impressive (though the surroundings are grossly commercialized).

A curious view
To "ring in" the new year, I walked up to Victoria Peak, and saw some great views on the way and at the top. Here's one... more to come.
